Mesquite Flats

Mesquite Flats sand dunes just out of Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park are dynamic and always changing. While hiking these dunes very late in the day, this “blow-out” was found. A place where the sand is blown away from the bedrock or shale below it. It produced beautiful pink colors leading your eye to the yellow brush and blue mountains in the distance.
